Webinar transcript

0:00 Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s webinar. We’re excited to have you here to talk about Wagepoint 2.0. There’s been a lot of buzz recently, along with plenty of questions about migration, so that’s exactly what we’ll cover today.

As we wait for a few more people to join, feel free to share in the chat where you’re joining from—whether it’s somewhere in Canada or beyond. We’ll get started shortly with introductions and a quick overview of today’s agenda.

01:00 It’s great to see participants from across the country. If you have any questions about Wagepoint 2.0 or migration, we’ll have a formal Q&A session at the end. In the meantime, you can submit questions through the Q&A tab on your screen, and we’ll review them as we go. Let’s move into introductions and outline what we’ll be covering today.

02:00 Today’s session will walk through Wagepoint 2.0 and everything you need to know about migration. We’ll start with an overview of the new experience and key improvements, followed by how to prepare for the switch, what the migration process looks like, and best practices once you’re up and running. We’ll also wrap up with a raffle draw and a live Q&A session.

03:00 We’ll be giving away three team pizza lunches just for attending, so be sure to stay until the end to see if you’re one of the winners.

This webinar is being recorded, and we’ll share both the recording and slides early next week via email. If you need to leave early, no problem—but we’d love for you to stay for the full session.

04:00 We know small businesses are busy, so we appreciate you taking the time to join us. Our goal is to keep payroll running smoothly in the background, and we recognize that migrating to a new platform can introduce some friction.

We don’t take that lightly. Our focus is to make this transition as seamless as possible while supporting you every step of the way.

05:00 Today, we’ll cover what Wagepoint 2.0 is, why we built it, and what improvements you can expect. The platform introduces new features and experiences designed to make payroll easier and more efficient.

We’ve spent the past year learning from customer feedback and continuing to improve the product, especially over the last six months.

06:00 Our long-term vision is to make payroll the easiest part of running a small business. While Wagepoint 1.0 has been a strong and well-loved platform for many years, we know there’s still room to improve.

With 2.0, we’ve carried over the most important features while introducing new workflows and enhancements to improve the overall experience.

07:00 We recognize that change can be challenging, especially for customers who have used the same workflows for years. While not everything will feel identical, we’ve worked to bring forward the most valuable aspects of 1.0 while continuing to innovate.

We’re also actively incorporating customer feedback to refine and improve the platform over time.

08:00 One major reason for building 2.0 was to move to a modern, scalable technology foundation. The previous platform was built on older architecture that limited our ability to innovate and scale.

With 2.0, we now have a more flexible and future-ready system that allows us to deliver better automation and ongoing improvements.

09:00 Another key improvement is giving you more control. Tasks that previously required contacting support—like creating custom pay codes—can now be done directly within your account.

We’ve also focused on creating a more unified experience, bringing payroll, time tracking, mobile access, and HR features into a single, seamless platform.

10:00 Today, nearly a third of customers are already using Wagepoint 2.0. We’ve seen strong adoption among new customers and growing migration among existing users.

Customer feedback has been positive, with higher satisfaction scores and fewer support requests compared to 1.0—indicating a more intuitive and self-sufficient experience.

11:00 While the new interface is cleaner and more modern, any software transition comes with a learning curve. It’s normal for things to feel unfamiliar at first, but customers are quickly adapting and sharing positive feedback.

We’re committed to supporting you through that transition.

12:00 Wagepoint 2.0 also introduces new features, including a mobile app for time entry, an all-inclusive pricing model, and improved employee self-service.

Employees can onboard themselves, access pay stubs, and manage their information directly within the platform.

13:00 Looking ahead, we’ll continue expanding features such as vacation management and additional HR tools, all within a single, integrated platform.

Now, let’s shift focus to how you can prepare for migration and what to expect during the process.

14:00 One of the first changes you’ll notice is pricing. We’ve moved from a per-payroll model to a predictable monthly subscription, so your costs won’t fluctuate based on how often you run payroll.

This can lead to savings for customers who run frequent or off-cycle payrolls.

15:00 You’ll also notice changes in how you interact with support. While our team remains just as available and helpful, the platform is designed to give you more independence and control.

Many tasks can now be completed directly within your account, reducing the need to contact support.

16:00 Preparation is key to a smooth migration. Start by identifying key roles such as the account owner, authorized signatory, and administrators. Make sure you have their full names and email addresses ready.

It’s also important to notify your team about the upcoming transition.

17:00 Before migrating, download any important reports for your records. While you’ll retain view-only access to your previous account for a period of time, it’s best practice to keep copies on hand.

Timing also matters—migrating right after completing payroll is ideal.

18:00 The migration itself takes about 10 minutes, but you should allow extra time to review and familiarize yourself with the new system before your next payroll run.

Cleaning up your data beforehand—such as removing duplicates or updating employee records—will also help ensure a smoother process.

19:00 You’ll find a personalized migration checklist in your account, which highlights exactly what needs to be completed before moving forward.

Once everything is checked off, you can initiate the migration with a single click.

20:00 After migrating, review your account setup, including pay groups, administrator permissions, and payroll data.

You’ll also need your authorized signatory to complete the pre-authorized debit agreement within the new platform.

21:00 Compare reports between 1.0 and 2.0 to ensure accuracy. If you used custom codes previously, you’ll need to recreate them and re-enter year-to-date amounts.

Taking time to review everything ensures a smooth first payroll run in the new system.

22:00 Once migration is complete, there are a few final steps to optimize your setup. This includes configuring statutory holiday pay settings, reconnecting integrations, and inviting employees to the new portal.

Encourage your team to download the mobile app for easy access.

23:00 Training resources, including courses and guides, are available to help you get up to speed with new workflows and features.

With a bit of preparation and support, migration is designed to be straightforward and set you up for success.

24:00 Thank you for all the engagement and questions so far. Before we move into Q&A, we’ll announce our raffle winners.

Congratulations to our three winners—you’ll receive a follow-up email with next steps to claim your team pizza lunch.

25:00 Let’s move into some common questions. First, is migration mandatory?

Yes, Wagepoint 1.0 will no longer receive tax updates beyond 2027 and will become read-only. Migration ensures continued compliance and access to new features.

26:00 Migration is being rolled out in cohorts to ensure every customer receives adequate support. Guided migration assistance is included at no additional cost.

This approach helps us provide a smoother experience for everyone.

27:00 In terms of pricing, the new model includes a base monthly fee plus a per-employee cost. While some customers may see slight increases, many will see savings—especially those running frequent payrolls.

Overall, the goal is predictable, transparent pricing.

28:00 Each cohort includes a migration window of at least three months to give you time to plan and transition. Extensions may be available in exceptional circumstances.

We recommend migrating earlier in your window to take advantage of additional support.

29:00 After migrating, you can invite employees to the new portal. They’ll simply set up their accounts and start using the updated system.

For any unanswered questions, we’ll follow up via email with detailed responses and additional resources.

30:00 Thank you again for joining us today and for your engagement throughout the session. We look forward to supporting you through your transition to Wagepoint 2.0.

Have a great rest of your week.
